thread subscription emails

i seem to be getting emails saying i have subscribed to any threads i post on. Is this a glitch or have a missed a setting about automatically subscribing to all threads i post on?! 3 emails tonight!

It's a new feature. You can turn it on/off on a post by post basis ('Receive e-mail notification of new replies?' on the reply page) or set the default operation in your control panel.

Try the subscriptions part of the Control panel, you can unsubscribe from the ones that were automatically subscribed too prior to turning it off.

As has been said, this is because you're still subscribed to the threads. The subscription email system remains as before, apart from the format and the source of mails changing (the latter to hopefully get around the issue of the original LB server still being blacklisted for spam due to a hacker gaining control of it a couple of years back), the only change is that you are auto-subsribed to threads that you start or reply to by default, unless you switch it off in your profile.

To delete notifications for a particular thread, go to Control Panel -> Subscriptions and delete the thread from the list. Note that if you reply again you will (by default, unless you untick the box as you reply) have the thread added to the list again.

You can switch this function off permanently in Control Panel -> profile. The other option is to untick (or tick, of course) the email notification box on threads as you reply to them, giving you control on a thread by thread basis.

Note that you'll only get one notification even if multiple people reply to stop your inbox being filled up. If you then read the thread again the counter is reset, so you'll get a further notification if someone replies again after you've read the post.

Following feedback over the last couple of days, I'm intending to make it a simpler process to unsubscribe from threads.

Cheers, Chris

BTW: that's a BIG heading in the notification email text!
