Allow editing in For Sale & Wanted sections?
Hi Admins/The Boss.
I was wondering if would be possible / make sense to remove the edit time limit in the For Sale and Wanted sections?
Reason being, that often people won't read an entire thread where multiple items are for sale, and thus it gets a bit messy about which bits
have been sold etc.
Example can be found in my recent thread here.
I wanted to create a single thread where I can add items, rather than having multiple threads, but it gets a bit messy and confusing.

That's a good idea, and one I'm happy to implement if people are generally in agreement.
The reason for the time limit on editing was to stop the 'throwing toys out of the pram' actions. There was a trend of people losing an
arguement, saying they were going to quit the forum, etc, etc, then deleting all their posts, which often made the thread said posts were in difficult
or impossible to understand.
By locking down the window in which a post can be editted or deleted I stopped this behaviour.
However, does it really matter that much with for sale/wanted/bargains elsewhere? I should really write something to prune old threads from those
three forums anyway, as who goes back to read old adverts? (Or perhaps you do?)
So, over to the masses.... what do people think of the idea?

Can't see that being any problem in those forums - just as long as the others are left as they are to avoid any future CalvinX type

Makes sense to me - in fact other forums I frequent have a 30 day auto deletion on 'for sale' posts - this might be a bit harsh but maybe
a 60 day auto deletion might not be a bad thing?

On the auto delete, I chose to keep old posts as sometimes it's a good reference to know what parts have sold for in the past. I see advantages
to getting rid of them too, though!

Definitely agree with removing the timelimit.
Also, I would prefer that old posts are kept, as Chris said it is sometimes worth going back to see what parts and at what price parts were sold at.
Also, some members may search old for sale ads and contact a seller if they notice it did not sell and the seller may still have the part - I have had
this happen to me.
