Nipple help, I need larger ones
One of my bleed nipples snapped today. I have drilled out the remains as it would not budge. The nipple was a 10mm x 1. I want to drill the whole
bigger and re tap it for a larger nipple but i cant find anything bigger than 10x1.
Any suggestions?

What about Helicoiling ?
So long as you haven't gone too big when drilling the old one out , it should be OK.

It's not the thread that seals the fluid it's the nipple seating in the calliper so it doesn't matter.

Yes, should be fine.
I've had calipers done before and sealed fine.
The kits are quite expensive to buy, but any decent engineering place should have the kit.
MachineMart do the kits but I don't know how good their quality is.

I like that idea too - simple and effective.
Only potential drawback I can see is not having enough meat around the nipple to be able drill out to the larger size.

thanks guys
the nipple therapy site doesnt seem to tell you what size the insert is and the helicoil kit doesnt say what pitch it is

Sorry - re-read the post M10x1
Try this one

Quite a bit more expensive though.
Engineering place might be your best bet - will only take 10 mins to do.

Cold water usually works
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
