Is Andy Coulson a deadly ninja or something?
From the BBC News website:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-18262740
=====================================
Andy Coulson held in perjury case
The prime minister's former director of communications Andy Coulson has been detained by police investigating allegations of perjury.
Mr Coulson, 44, was detained at his home in the Dulwich area of London at 06:30 on Wednesday by seven officers from Strathclyde Police.
He has been held on suspicion of committing perjury at the perjury trial of Tommy Sheridan in 2010.
Mr Coulson is being taken to Glasgow where he will be questioned.
=====================================
WTF? Why does it take SEVEN police officers to go all the way from Scotland to London to pick up an individual? He's not billy the kid
he's a political journalist who they think lied in court. He's unlikely to come out of his house packing heat!
6.30 raid, 7 police all the way from Glasgow? Sounds bonkers!

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

In a country that can use the police for this

then a gang of officers to arrest one man is hardly surprising! Lol

It's the public purse, no need to account for anything; it's all necessary!!
Bet they flew down, stayed in a good hotel, had a brilliant meal and a few drinks!

Another case of playing to the media don't you think?
I expect he would have driven himself if they'd asked nicely, but where's the headline in that?

1 to arrest him, and 6 to execute a search warrant to look for juicy documents he might have been stupid enough to keep?

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Nearly...
2 to arrest him (it's Scotish cops and they need corroboration) and the rest to execute the search warrant. It's just one of those
peculiarities of having different laws across the border,
IIRC a Scottish Sheriff will have issued the search warrant and an English Magistrate will have endorsed it which allows the Scottish police to
proceed as if in their own jurisdiction.
It's Evolution Baby!

Should you just be issued a summons for something like that?

if you summons him you cant search his address. If they didnt search his address on the basis that he would not have been stupid enough to keep
anything incriminating you get slaughtered at court by the defence for not doing your job properly and they will say that if they had searched his
house they would have found evidence proving him innocent. The extra officers are searching officers. If he had 2 computers seized, they need
people to carry them back to scotland........

Interesting to read that the security operation for this event is going to cost 600 million quid
This in a country where councils are now only offering the very basic of care to their old folks and their carers are under more pressure than ever
We also have more youth un-employment than we've had for years
The sooner this waste of money is over the better and hopefully it'll turn into a shambles and Boris and his mates will be forced to drop their
heads in shame
and no i won't be watching any of it
and breathe.....
