drums or discs?
Standard Tiger Avon build, with a 2 litre Pinto on carbs. Car is intended for the road with very little trackday action. Would drums on the back be
adequate, or should they be replaced by discs? If drums are ok for now, at what point would you change to discs, assuming there is a point that
you'd swap to discs?

Personal choice. Drums adequate even on track.
It's more about looks. ISTR Drums are lighter though.......

Agreed with above.
Disks look better but in practice are probably inferior (handbrake is way better with drums).

Another vote for drums. Have a tuned pinto and have never had problems stopping.

Yep. Drums - crappy handbrake with rear discs. The fronts do most of the stopping, and you can always change the pad types to suit the type of
driving. The cars are too light to warrant rear discs.

Thanks for the responses. It was my brother in law that inspired the question, I had just assumed that discs on back = good. But he mentioned that his
Nissan Micra has rear discs, and the mother of all bias valves to stop the car spinning down the road. And even a Micra is a heavyweight compared to
an Avon.

You could do a 1st.... drums on the front and discs on the back.....would be different! (Or one of each on each axle - that would be an interesting
drive on a wet road...)
