Minature 7 build

Right, for the past few weeks ive been building a miniature 7 for my little one. Any ideas welcome ......

Ive got a old ladys electric wheelchair and ive stole some parts off it for the power supply.

MDF Sheet cut to shape

Start of assembly

Rear axle assembled

Front axle mounts

I wasnt convinced with a few ways the the schematics said how to assemble so ive changed a few bits...

one of the front stub axle assembly's

and the rear axle was supposed to be mounted above the floor, but if the little one jumped in the car im sure the floor would drop away from axle so im thinking of mounting it below the floor.

Ive got the stub axles mounted this morning, showing the turning circle which should be fine......

Im thinking of using 6mm bar as a track rod to link the stub axles.

Would be a good source of parts - especially the electrics/controls.

Where did you get the schematics from ?

Thanks for that but im a electrical engineer so got plenty of batterys, motors and speed controllers lying about so planning on using them, the only thing im short off is pullys to connect the drive to the axle and some better mounts for axle.

Actually im using 0.8 mm thin wall tubing for rear and im not sure its strong enough, ive used 1.2mm x 20mm tubing on stub axles and its perfect, if anyone got half a meter of so lying about im wouldnt mind stealing it.

Ah, I might have to pick your brain for wiring mine then

Mine is chain drive - sprockets and chain available from same link.

Did you build from plans or scratch built ?

Plans, but nothing fits and the detail is very poor so im making every thing from scratch now.

Parts list reads:-

1) MDF Sheet
2) Wheels x 4 (12inch are perfect)
3) Various nuts and bolts
4) Lenght of threaded bar
5) Drive unit (old drill)

....im not lying thats it, now that to me isnt a parts list.

I'm thinking of doing a similar thing for my boy, he loves "daddy's car". Care to share some links of the plans and the wheel supplier?

kiddy cars

Sorry to hijack this post
I have two wheelchair motors that would be good for these type of supercars.
(I ended up putting a small two stroke engine in ours.)
Plenty strong enough just using one.
They have a five bolt hub so no need for belts or chains.
asking £20 each plus postage.

Edit to say pics in archive under part two.

Where did that go?
