Suitable mx5 Donor?

Hi all,

New member here, looking to start a Haynes Roadster build within the next 3 months or so.

I've spotted a potential donor here:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201403152548880/sort/default/usedcars/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/postcode/bb120hu/radius/1500/ma ke/mazda/transmission/manual/maximum-age/over_10_years_old/model/mx-5/engine-size-cars/1-7l_to_1-9l/page/1?logcode=

Any thoughts as to whether or not this would make a good donor?

All the best,
Andy

I think it's in Bedford. A bit of a trek for me really, but perhaps worth taking a look.

Thanks for the reply

Priced about right I think. In the description it talks about sills 'probably' passing the MOT (which means they won't), and that the brakes need bleeding (which means there's something wrong with them). Neither of those issues make the slightest bit of difference to you!

There is also the benefit of it still being drivable, and getting it back up north will flag up any issues that you can sort while it's in bits.

If I didn't already have one, I'd have gone for that.

Is it really worth the trek? I don't know where you are but rusty mk1s are plentiful, one will come up closer surely
