Password update message in "announcements"

Seeing as we don't have permission to reply in the other post, I'll do it here!

Does the password change process require email notifications to work? Because that feature has been broken for the last 6+ years that I know of - I don't want to start the process and not be able to validate the change unless you've already fixed the notification email feature in case I can't get back in.

the email notification system works for me, but I had to give it a direct address, not one that was forwarded through another domain. (also it might go into junk)
but when I changed my password this week, it did not require an authorisation email

I'm getting email notifications.... Happy to look at anything that isn't working.

Password change doesn't require working email anyway.

Oh crikey, my filters had been hiding the notifications - I'm glad they've started again!

Excellent - I think they got fixed when we migrated the site earlier this year.

Hi Luke,

I tried to write this on your change password post but couldn't.

A big thank you for all your efforts in keeping this wonderful site running! It's appreciated by all of us.

James
