Catch up
Think I've suggested this before, but here goes...
How about a two part catch up button.
First click records that time. Second click catches up.
So that you can 'mark', read posts, then catch up with out missing the posts left after you started reading.
Just I have missed some posts near the top as I am reading further down.

The whole catch up thing doesnt work for me anyway, neither does the orange envelope signifyling new posts on certain threads, i can view the trhead
and it still tells me there are new posts a few hours later and there aint!

when someone deletes a post the orange envelope stays, along with the small details at the right on the main page.
i use the catchup button when im trawling all evening, and want to quickly tell whats new.

You shuldnt need to use th catch up button because you write 98% of the the new stuff anyway

Yep - I'm with you on this one...
Pet hate is when I start to look through the forum, then get called away for 10 minutes or so. When I get back I open a topic with an orange envelope
- and when I get back to the forum all the envelopes have reset and I don't get to read the ones I've missed.
