Pic didnt upload

Hi All,

I have four pics in my photo archive list that didn't upload.

They all have an "&" symbol in their name, which I think is why they didn't work.
I renamed the pic, changing the "&" to an "and", then it uploaded fine. Problem solved.

Trouble is, I still have them on my photo archive list, although there are no pics.

How do I get rid of them?

Edit dosn't work, because there's nothing to edit, and delete dosn't work because there's nothing to delete.

HELP !

I should point out that I am computer "thick", (I think that's how you spell illiterate)
so answers in words of one syllable please.

Many thanks

Paul G

I have the same problem on one pic in my archive too. It has some + in the file name (oops). Cant delete it.

Its not you being think, its just the coding for the site wont allow you to use certain symbols in picture uploads for one reason or another.

Go to your achive and at the bottom there is a little box that says browse next to it. Click it, it will open explorer and you just select the file to upload. Just make sure its a .jpg and doesnt have any weird characters in the name.

The blind leading the blind

Hi Nige,

If I click on my photo archive when I am not logged in then there is no browse button.

Are you logged in as "Nige_S" when you try to upload a pic ?

As I said in my first post, "I am computer thick" so I might be barking up the wrong tree.

The bottom of your photo archive should look like this:

Image deleted by owner

As 907 says check you are logged in. I know you have one picture in your archive...

Use this link to get to your gallery to upload:

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/photos.php?action=gal&user=Nige_S

I notcied that if you have an underscore in your name, the gallery link from the photo archive page doesnt work as it reads the underscore as a space, which it isnt...

Cheers Flak, but here's summat weird going on.

DEFO logged in (can't post replies if you're not) and goto Photo Archive, find myself (but
as you say, a space instead of an underscore) and click.
It opens and says "Archive Empty"
None of the browser boxes.

HOWEVER.... If I use the link you pasted it works properly ??????

If you click photo archive next to your name/avatar on one of your posts it takes you to the right place.

I noticed it with tom_loughlins photo archive. As i think he has the same problem...

The %20 in the link from the archive page is the code for a space...

You need to right click on the pic, go to properties and copy the http:// .... bit and paste that as your avatar.
