A "what engine" sticky thread

As this topic comes up TOO often, with the exact same responses each time, would it not be a good idea to have a sticky thread in the engines and transmission section, giving a reasonably good list of pros, and cons of the MAJOR engine options? With perhaps room for memebrs to add details about less common enigne options.
