Bolt on drive shafts???

What semi modern cars have bolt on drive shafts like those found on the rear of disk braked Sierras?
I’m after the wheel hub and bearing arrangement for a new project I have planned, the sierra setup is ideal for my plans but I just wondered if there was an alternative (no point using up scarce Sierra bits if I don’t have to), push in shafts won’t cut the mustard!

I know I could spend a couple of hours looking at the scrap yard but your suggestions would be welcome!

Cheers

Thom

VAG.....

Most volkswagens have bolt on shafts if not all, certainly the bigger ones with longitudinal engines.

Just look at the front end.

Most (if not all) VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat models have and have had for a while. MK2 Golf might be a place to start as they'll be plenty laying around in the breakers yards.

Rear engined VW Transporters have bolt in drive shafts , some Mercededs, BMWs Granada Scorpio . FWD shafts normally have a CV joint with splines on the outer end that may not fit your hubs

"sierra" shafts are not rare as such.

The joints are not actually ford at all in design, they are GKN/Lobro, and are common to MANY european cars.

They are in two common sizes, 100mm OD (25 spline) and 108mm OD (28 spline).

The former are sierra xr4x4 and rwd with rear discs, plus many audis, BMW's etc etc

and the latter 108mm items are sierra cosworth 2wd, some scorpios, plus porsche 911 turbo and some old vw stuff and some audis, plus all bigger BMW's.
