Sticky picture suggestion

Just a thought but how about in the kit specific sections of the forum i.e. MK / tiger etc... The first thread in the forum could be a sticky where people put photo's of finished cars so newbies like me can see what the finished article looks like and can tell differences between the many.

Just an idea,
Thanks
Mark.

I always thought a gallery of reader rides would be nice or separate galleries for cars and another for projects in garages, another for ideas (pictures etc). You see them on other sites as a whole host of pictures you can click on.

So what's wrong with using the Photo Archive?

If you see that, (for example) 'Joe Bloggs' is building an MK Indy,...click on their photo archive and more often than not, there is a comprehensive set of pictures in there!

Fozz, I think what is being suggested is more like a gallery section so that anyone can visit to oggle the finished cars - the archives are fine but can be a bit of a nightmare to navigate because not everyone puts descriptions on their pics.
Maybe someting connected to the profile would be a good idea - a few pics and a spec list? Like this

Ahhhhh cheers Raz ..... that's a nice car! ......whose is that then? (yeah ...joking )

I can't see that happening for now to be honest.

The majority of members don't even put in any details of themselves in their profiles, let alone their 'pride and joys.'

Fozzie

Edit to add...... I will put the idea forward though!

Thats a great idea but to set it up is quite complex.

With a sticky its very easy to set up and if people feel that they want people to see their car as an example of that marque then they can add it.

It just makes alot of sense to me, for the sake of 1 thread...

My car would have to come under the mongrel westfield section as it is a fine example . closely resembling an xr2i climbing frame in the early stages.

Maybe just have a thumb nail of the first pic in your photo archive to make the photo archive easier to look through

its a thread that is always at the top of the list of threads on a menu page.

for example, at the top of website problems & suggestions a sticky is 'How to enter web addresses on this forum'.

Even though no-one has posted in it for ages, its always at the top.
