Smiths Telemetrix Prog. Speedo Advice

I recently bought a set of Smiths Telemetrix Gauges from someone on here. Brand New.

Well i've got them all fitted in my dash and wired up. But the odometer part of the speedo doesn't seem to be working. I've taken the speedo out now and connected it up the relevant cables to + and - but still nothing.

Can anyone help? I'm wondering does it need the speedo sensor connected to make it work??? I've not done that yet.
Therefore i cant test if the rest of the speedo works either.

Basically i want to know if the digital display comes on as soon as the powers connected! If so, is mine buggered???

Thanks in advance.

I have the same speedo, should only need the 12v power for the odometer to display, obvioulsy if sensor not connected then it's not going to increase but you should have a display.

You need the display btw to program/calibrate the speedo

Green from gauge is +12v (pin 1)

Black from gauge(pin 5) is earth.

That should be all you need for the lcd to light up and show milage and trip ect.

There is another wire which will power up just the lcd to show milage when ignition is of. Brown/slate but mine was a very thin black.
