Trackday vid

Wet Sunday afternoon's work by my son Pete... It's a compilation of clips from various trackdays we've done this year.

Best of 2007

Nice work

I particularly like the very sideways lime green RS500 in front of you at the start

robertst - 19/11/07 at 12:10 PM

Yeh, the foo fighters did a cover of that song. Used to listen to it loads about 2years back.

Nice compilation but the music isn't as good as the original Gerry Rafferty sang it slower because he wasn't trying to keep up with the drummer I think.

That was very cool - liked the bit with you chasing what I guess was your son and another nice green Westie.. Roll on 2008 indeed!

I think that would be the clip from Teesside, the blue car is the one my son now owns, being driven by it's previous owner. Green/blue Westy is a Busa. The full vid is HERE
Music is nowt to do wi' me, son's choice..

I love Andy's vids. The light comes on at every corner and yet the car keep on trucking. Reminds me of my old 205 Mi16. A few of the trackjuice boys you know are at Oulton 25th Jan 08 if you fancy starting the season early Andy?

ChrisGamlin - 1/12/07 at 09:55 PM

What engine is it?

I think it's a Pinto. Goes well enough

Andy D - 2/12/07 at 01:21 PM

It is indeed an anchor.. I'm currently in the throws of fitting another more powerfull Pinto. Having probs keeping the water in it at the moment though. Sure I'll have it sorted soon..
And yes the oil surge is a wee problem. I've actually fitted a trapdoor in the sump baffle, which I think will buy a little more time in the corners. The pressure drops are little shorter now. The light is illuminated by a high pressure switch, so it's not zero when it comes on, just heading that way!

January at Oulton sounds a bit scary!

It's pot luck with the weather but we booked early when it was only 79 for the day. This year we had a fantastic day at the start of Feb. Hoping for more of the same, but I'll settle for it drying out late morning and staying that way for the afternoon.

Tell us more about your upgrade...how much power? What's been done to the engine? There's a few upgrades in our group too. I'm going R1, Nick's stuck a TypeR engine in his Elise (it's great) and Jason's slowly building a Sprint R single seater to trump us all in the power to weight stakes.

It's now 2.1, balanced bottom end, light flywheel, stage 2 head, and a cam. Should be an extra 20 to 30bhp. It certainly revs a bit more freely. The old unit was running out of steam around 5500, this one should see 7k hopefully.

Looking forward to 08..

I'm sure you are It was already a quick package. No doubt we'll see you on track somewhere.

At £10 to £20 per corner, it makes sense. See you next year, at Oulton / Cadwell / Anglesey???
