Interesting idea using a bulkhead to support the back of the IRS, anyone got any comments on this? Would it work with steel, any idea what thickness
plate would need to be used?
picture is from an auctin on ebay:

Probably difficult to analyse the loads going through the diff mount/ wishbone brackets: to accurately do this a CAD model would need to be put
through ANSYS or something like that for a finite element analysis.
OR,
you could weld a bit of 6mm mild steel across it...

That chassis is a trick looking bit of kit!!
Anyone have any idea who made it or what design was used?
Doug.
Amazing looking chassis! I wouldn't want to put much bodywork over that
wouldn't want to put bodywork over it as i'd want to see when the ali started to stress crack
That to me looks like a major compromise to simplify things.
It looks nice but I wouldn' want to drive it for too long without having a major stripdown of the rear to check it.
Just my tuppence
i could imagine hard acceleration bending the back a bit, as syd points out the nearest triangle is at the base of the dash nearly!
on the other hand, i would have it as a work of art in my garden all day long for that price! bloody gorgeous the bends and lines in it.
