hey all.
Got to the stage of building where i need to make the two curves by your shoulders that follow the curve of the rear arches. Reading the book it says
to use an arch as a template for the curve. I dont have a set of arches and cant afford to buy a set this early in the build.
anyone got a tracing or dimensioned image of the profile of the arches that would help me?
ta!
You dont need to weld them in, as i made mine from an old piece of kitchen worktop, as its about the right thickness, shaped to fit the wheel arche
and covered them in leatherette, and "no nails" holds them on to the frame
these were made very late in the build
also i would presume that wheel arches differ from each manufacture
I do not make and mount the curves until I have the arches. Just leave them off.
There was a guy on eBay selling "steel infil panels" not seen them for a while though.

i think its 3ge or something similar. i've got them - they are detailed in the haynes roadster book. i've checked and they seem identical profile to the stuart taylor rear arches i've got (i wanted to put something under the stuart taylor arches cause i'm silly).
I used thinwall conduit tube and a conduit tube bender.
Bend a little, slide bender 10 to 20 mm, bend some more, slide, bend...
it looks like a continuous bend.
