Is there any reason I couldn't use 20mm conduit to make the tube which forms the rear of the luggage area?
John.
No problem using 20mm tube but personally I wouldn't use conduit for anything other than conduit it's made from absolute rubbish.
Davie
As said it's made of crap material.
BUT it's what i used as the price was less than locost

I too used conduit.
Still in build stage though.
Last time I heard of conduit was on an episode of Star Trek... so what's this version?

Its not crap, it just has a very high lead content to make it easily workable.
There is no crap metal, just inappropriately used metal

Sorry Mark I have to disagree. Mazak? AKA monkey metal is crap
Even mazak has genuine uses, in places where it will not encounter any stresses, or corrosive environments, or anything that a component made of an
alloy of sugar and cheese would be considered to be at risk of failing
