hi all..im new to this so be gentle!!!
im just starting to make my chassis and i want to fit irs to it, i have some drawings for making the parts but they show discs on the rear and to use
sierra parts....they are rorty drawings...
can anyone tell me if it is using the standard rear hub and then standerd front discs or am i missing something??
and how does the handbreak work from this....????
sorry for what is probably a dum question...
also, could i use a subaru impreza rear axle setup??
cheers

I would suggest you buy "The (new) book"
This should be a good basis and reference for your 7 alike project.
BTW welcome aboard and the search is quite good too

I assume you are building a locost? book built chassis?
I converted my robin hood and locost before the book came out.
I made a rectangular cage for the diff to sit in then used sierra rear hubs and drums, alligned the wheels with the fronts then made outriggers to
back plates on the hub and used the robin hood wishbone kit.
for more info u2u me if you like.
thanks for the replys....i will get the newer book as mine still has the mk2 escort as the base car...it is the book built chassis i am attempting....hoping it isnt too bad, as i am a qualified toolmaker and i run a waterjet and laser cutter so i can make all my own parts......i am a tad excited....

Hi and welcome. As mentione get the new book as its got all the plans for the IRS setup. I prefer the look of the locost chassis as the new book
chassis is alot bigger. but i am sure you will have no issues in converting it to IRS.
All the best
Rob

Which bike engine have you decided on?

Check out Matt who trades as Cassavara (sp?) on Ebay. He makes complete rear ends.
He was the leading light and fabricator for the old Luego, so he knows what he is doing.
He usually sells wishbones on Ebay.
