hi
i'm waiting for my haynes book to come from amazon but want to order my steel for the chassis.
do you use 25x25x 1.6 mm wall or 2mm wall.

1.6 will make a lighter chassis.
2mm is easier to work with.
Personaly I used 2mm.
want it light so going to get 1.6
i'm going to tig weld it so thinner guage wont be a problem.
dan
Tiging it, should make a nice chassis.
Good luck with ya build.
I used 2mm
i used 2 mm aswell, im sure youll get some lovely welds with the tig,but its gunna take you a while!
good luck with it mate
You could go thinner than 1.6mm if your welding's good. MNR do. The use even thinner than that for the chassis made from T45.
I have used a mixture of the 2 for my haynes. the bits that take the most load in 2mm and the others in 1.6
but i am being fanatical about weight on this build.
