closed rivnuts?
Miks15 - 25/5/10 at 05:51 PM

Hi guys,

Is using closed end rivnuts a must when putting them in the chassis? I thought this is what is best to do, but i cant seem to find them anywhere.

Also what material rivnuts are best to get?
Ally stainless or mild steel?

Thanks
Mikkel

What about thread lock? Water will still get through the outside if no sealant is used anyway.

also use the same material as you are fitting to ie ali - ali steel - steel to prevent galvanic corrosion.

I've got a bag of closed end rivnuts at work - I think they are M6 - not sure if they are steel or ally though .
Any use ?

ally are easy to set but will corrode for fun if they get wet often.

steel are a little bit harder to set but FAR more robust
