fury suspension brackets

hi guys,

i'm 2mm out, the brackets look too solid to move, any thoughts?

Thats not good - how long ago was the chassis built ? If it's a BHG one , there does seem to be a bit of a quality issue at the moment.....
If the wishbone is stressed , it WILL crack in time , so needs to be sorted .

its a bgh one, there are 2 brackets that i know of that wont accept the wishbones, lower front n/s and rear upper offside.

How annoying.

Sorry to ask a silly question.

It is the chassis and not the wishbone? (have you tried the wishbone from the other side just to check).

Getting them to ship a replacement lower wishbone is trivial.

Cutting off the mount, rewelding, and then sorting out the powdercoat (well you can paint with POR-15 which was plenty good enough for the chassis mods that I made) is a pain, and thats if you (or a buddy) can weld.

In that case I would be talking to BHG - and having a very thorough look at every single weld on the chassis (I saw one being returned at Stoneleigh , some of the welds were less than presentable......)

You've paid ££££'s for it, it's not your
problem to sort, get them to pick it up and make
the changes, think they call it customer service!

Hi

To be honest that is no worse than the previous manufacturers of the fury. it is the wishbone that's wrong. It was never checked back in the jig once welded. it will have to be tweaked as they usually need doing. Exactly the same as with most manufacturers Mk MNR RAW Etc Etc.

Whats more worrying is that who ever welded the bracket on to the chassis could not be arsed to square it up before welding. As can be seen the bracket is tapered. Typical that will do attitude.

I bought a couple of replacement lower wishbones from BGH and they were15mm narrower than the ones currently fitted!!! Luckily they were rose jointed ones so could at least fit them and use spacers!! You could always go rose jointed aswell, rather than rewelding the bracket??

Agreed. Reminds me mine where "tight" might have to take em off again real PITA, how to you tweak them bit of heat??

thanks for the response guys, its definately the bracket on the front, and a combination of the bracket, the wishbone and the powder coat on the back.

with a little filing of the tube insert which the wishbone pivots on i think i could get the back wishbones on, but not on the front. what does worry me though is any discrepencies now may cause poor handling later...

anyway i'll give bgh a ring tomorrow.

so i spoke to steve from bgh who was very helpful this morning. gave me the confidence to have a fettle with the rear bushes with my power file, and i'm going to take a few measurements of the front to see if he's got a better fitting one at the workshop. still concidering rose joints, apart from being easier to fit, what are the advantages?

More adjustable, you can change the castor by using spacers and adjust camber using them rather than the lower outer rose joint. Castor cannot be altered on the fury suspension with the type of wishbones you have. It will also allow you to fine tune positions so both sides of the car are the same, something that sounds like its not the case on your car. It will also give more direct handling as there is no compliance in them like the metalastic bushes. On the down side it transmits more vibration

Just noticed you are in kiddy!! I'm only up the road!! I've got a couple of spare metalastic type wishbones if you want to compare them. I also have some spare rose jointed ones, but do need these but happy for you to have a look at them and measure up
