I want to bend some 1" round tube into a hoop 250mm radius over about 165° with 400mm or so long legs at either end. I only want 2 of them so
making an MDF former with 2 sides to bend them in seems like a lot of work. Is there a locost way of neatly bending round tube?
Either that or can anyone suggest where I can buy a 1" thick circle of MDF about 475mm in diameter, to save me cutting one with a jigsaw then
sanding it smooth?
I can do 1" bends at that bend radius but only up to 120º
Just use a 22mm plumbers pipe bender, it takes muscles and gritted teeth and a sit down afterwards but it is dooable!
Find a local sparky with a conduit bender he might have some 25mm knocking about as well.
Failing that if your passing Stoke and can get some 25mm conduit I'll bend it for you.
Mark you must have muscles like Garth to be able to bend steel in a plumbers bender.
Cheers,
Bob
I bend 25 steel in my hilmor bender....
never broke a sweat yet....
Considering how much metal munching I have done on sites it should be easy...
i could do with my scuttle support bending if anyone can help.
like 20mm tube
in the shape of the scuttle.
sorry to bolt onto your post
