That's difficult- depends what you want to do with the car. What engine are you fitting?

I would have though life will be simpler with the +4 as atleast some people are doing that and there may soon be +4 bodywork too. Deviate too much and people can't help you.

Atb,

James

you want to avoid doing you own bodywork at all costs! its a royal pain in the butt. takes ages and its actually quite expensive buying all the crap you need plus tools.

Amen brother....

Alan, are you making your own bodywork?

craig1410 - 20/7/04 at 07:46 PM

You can always do what I am doing and buy standard bodywork from the likes of GTS and widen it yourself. About £400 will get you a nosecone, bonnet, scuttle and both front and rear wings. It then shouldn't cost much for the CSM and resin required to add the 4" strip down the middle of the nose, bonnet and scuttle with the wings being used as is.

The downside of this approach is the time element to widen and the fact that you will have to paint the body parts afterwards but this will be handy when scrapes and scratches need fixing and you have a wider choice of colours.

Cheers,
Craig.

you might be suprised craig, i just spent £80 with CFSnet getting enough to do just that, widen a bonnet. I will need more to do the boot! 80 quid includes rollers, brushes, acetone, PVA, buckets, gloves etc.

Don't forget the new guy looking to sell bodywork, who seems interested in producing +4 parts:

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=15401

It's only a matter of time before someone steps up. There are a lot of +4 builds out there.

Has anyone seen a pic of a finished +442 car?

marc n - 20/7/04 at 09:26 PM

in the next two months we will be offering a plus four version of our bodywork to suit our bigger car ( available end of october ), there will be either the option of the aeroscreen scuttle and bonnet or a standard scuttle to take a windscreen and plain bonnet. If enough interest now i could set the ball rolling on moday and would probably be able to produce within a month.

we do have a few pics of the bodywork on the website www.mnrltd.co.uk

If anyone is interested please contact me for further details

regards

marc

i think you will find that the +442 uses a standard nose cone, thats why i was going to build one
