Hey Folks,

What's the recommended Mig wire thickness for the chassis tubes please? .6mm or .8?

Thanks,

James

Yep, I agree, me too.

I took some 16g rhs with me when I had my new welder set up by a professional, and he reccommended the .6mm, even going to the trouble of changing the reel of .8 that I had loaded. Bearing in mind that the others find .8 better, it could be a technique thing.

I've used .6 and it's been fine, but the chap who set it up for me said .8 would be as good or better. Won't the college guys suggest one?

if you change the current/speed their both the same you just take longer to build up the weld with 0.6

0.6 would be better in my opinion unless you're poo hot at welding. 0.8 is less forgiving if you have a shakey hand or vary your speed too much.

you will find 8 feeds better and bridges gaps better

So I guess .8 is the way to go then!

Thanks Guys.
