Can someone please tell me what the purpose of brace TR5 is first shown on page 41? It is omitted from a lot of the other diagrams but is shown in a photo later on in the book. It appears to be an optional brace but I can't see any mention of why it should be in there or if it is a temporary stay, left in for welding.

Its to strengthen the engine bay. Its in on my car. Some photos of the car in the book are from various stages of development. But I can assure you it should be in.

Mine's been chopped out to make way for the BM 6-pot that leans over that way, but I do in tend to reinstate it over the other side

well the man that wrote the book told me that they added it because it significantly increased the torsional rigidity of the chassis and it shouldn't be omitted if at all possible
