Chassis mods for CVH/type 9 combo
Chris_R - 9/8/04 at 07:14 PM

It's all ground to a halt and it's all down to my engine and gearbox. As you can see from the photo my chassis is starting to look a little like a chassis, but because my 1600 CVH is in bits and my gearbox hasn't even been touched refurb wise, I've not been able to mark out the tranny tunnel or the tubes in the engine bay (sorry, don't have the book to hand to identify tubes by ref No.). Is there anyone out there who's used the same engine and box combo that can tell me if any deviations from the book are required to squeeze them in. I'm getting a little bored of cleaning parts and want to crack on with the chassis. Please help me!

By the way, my CVH was originally transversely mounted, if it's relevant.

Chris

Looking good.

I don't know which tubes etc to modify, but I've got a 1.6l pinto engine you can have for nowt if you want it instead of the cvh. Ran OK when i drove it back from Boro' but it's been stood a couple of months.

Mike, cheers for the offer. Have already spent a lot of time stripping and cleaning the CVH so think i'll stick with it for the moment. Hoping to get it rebored soon. Nearly £30 per piston for oversized rings though. How expensive's that!
