Sven - 29/8/04 at 05:49 PM

Tell me please that you didn't use a wood cutting blade in your chopsaw to cut the metal? If you did, and survived, then please stop and go buy a metal cutting blade to fit your saw. Metal chop saw blades and very cheap.

This is advice that could save your life, or at least an eye when one of the wood blade teeth breaks off and makes a beeline for your mincies, or, even worse, the pills.

-Steve

Graceland - 29/8/04 at 11:38 PM

sven - already had it spit a blade at me, hehe, so swapped it for an angle grinder disk - only use it for reducing full lengths and not precise cuts

Dang ... they make all blade and arbor sizes of metal cut off blades to suit all kinds of chopsaws. As a fellow Yorkshireman I plead with you to stop using the wood blade. Some day you may spawn a decent cricketer and, god knows, Yorkshire needs them. I'd never forgive myself if I deprived the county of said superstar by not giving you the 411.

Graceland - 30/8/04 at 07:55 AM

arrrr lad -,be reet, t'only spat blade once, metal ones are a bit't dear for my liking - 60 queens heads for a metal blade, or 10 queens heads for a pack o' 10 grinder discs yum

Dale - 30/8/04 at 08:21 PM

I have been running 10 x 3/32 inch abrasive blades in my compound miter saw andits quite acurate although I have bee through proablably 4 blades in the last year it seams perfectly safe.
Dale

liam.mccaffrey - 30/8/04 at 09:43 PM

im gonna use a 8" slitting saw blade

£15 from http://www.tracytools.com/

Peteff - 30/8/04 at 11:26 PM

Don't see much of him on here these days either.

Graceland - 31/8/04 at 03:42 PM

cant remember who i upset, lol, wasnt intension i know that much hehehe

cant do much more on car now untill i get the donor

James - 31/8/04 at 03:55 PM

They're so cheap you could get two!

One to get you started (4x4 for back end or something) and a later one for the engine you want!

Can't you do the wishbones etc. now? What about radiator mounts? Start on your roll-over bar.

Loads of bits to do!

James

EDIT: What about doing Cymtriks' mods to the nose of the chassis. You could make up the jig for your suspension brackets.
Too much to do to mention!
