hi everyone my first post, i have got the book , building my garage and have done endless hours looking and dreaming trying to work out which way to go with engine gearbox choice. my first question to you all is what changes if any are needed to fit the lt77 box in the book tunnel specs( sorry the book is haynes roadster)
Hi & welcome to the forum
I don,t know the measurements for that gearbox but what you could do is build the main frame of the chassis, trial fit your engine & gearbox &
then fabricate to suit, tho keep in mind the size of the drivers footwell area/pedalbox area & the width of the seats you intend to fit.
The MT75 gearbox dimensions may give you some guidance ( there are some dimensions available on the Haynes forum in the announcements section under
"amendments/guides ", this info also gives dimensions for the smaller pedalbox area...roughly 25mm narrower than the standard Roadster book
guide.
HTH & good luck with your build.
cheers
andy
cheers andy will take a look kev
For a moment I thought it was a Porn site post!!!
However the more serious reply is a good one.
Don't forget if you are building your own chassis you can change things to fit your engine and box, if you already have a fully built chassis
it's realy not a problem to cut out a bit that's in the way and re weld it someware else.
My first build was controlled by my fear of changing the design I was presented with, now it's just the basics to work with and modify to my
requirements.
