Hi all.
I have been looking and thinking about mounting my new engine in the chassis.
Are there any rules, or generally recognised ideas, with regard to how to do this? I have bought a pair of the Land Rover rubber mounts - what
orientation are they employed in a Landy, horizontal or at an angle? What sort of material thicknesses should I be looking at using? Is 3mm steel
enough?

Thanks Log' - I remember seeing that thread now you mention it.
Here's a "composite" one I was having a play with yesterday, so I guess I am on the right track...
Oh and some Google searching seems to suggest that the LR mounts are installed at a slight angle - I arbitrarily went for about 30 degrees on my mock-up.

Both my LR mounts are verticle on the striker? Are yours different loggy?
I havent made them yet, the picture I posted on the other thread are the Raw ones I assumed were factory, which I was going to order, but at £45+vat, I knew I could do it alot cheaper (less than £25!)

Mockup does look similar, but there would be no way to reach the top nut, and I wouldnt just want to drill a hole in the tube to reach it as it would be a weak spot.
I plan on copying the Raw mount I posted, and mounting mine Horizontal. The land rover mounts are just blocks of rubber, so I would suggest anywhere between horizontal and about 30degress would be fine.

What is the over complicated rose joint bit for ?
The angle on of the Mount to a landrover chassis is approx 45 Deg's
