So, as you may know, I'm rebuilding my fury, and i've just sent off all the suspension to be
powder-coated when it was starting to rust through.
It was a job that was all about preparation - having to work out where the handbrake cables, etc. needed to run and welding in brackets to provide
smooth run-paths rather than cable-tieing brackets to components, eventually rubbing off the coating.
So, I've gone from this:

which is trying the fit and run. Believe me, it was a ball-ache to go and put this lot back on the car when I thought I was finished, but I also
realised it wasn't worth doing a half arsed job.

I now need to get in there and recut the threads, and take the powder coat out the the tapered holes. But yes, the coaters put it on nice and thick
Shame they didn't mask off the threads/tapers though.

Most threads and tapers were stuffed with paper wedged into a solid mass, or had a bolt through (not very clear in the photo).
Inevitably there's some bleed through and that will need a little tidying up.
For important things like the wheel-bearing surface on the hub, I've masked it with paper and then tape. If you only mask with tape the heat of
the coating process melts the adhesive and it's a pig to get clean.
I'm fairly happy with the results
i'm afraid to say that powder coating them ensures your will need to modify them I got my live axle links back and fitted them to my newly built axle, only to find the springs caiyght the casing, so had to cut off the damper pickups and weld them on 20mm further away, grrrrr!!!!
Is that a conversion from live axle to indy? Just that I've not seen some of those brackets before.
Nah. Mines an original 1st gen IRS, with the golf struts and so on. When converting to cosworth disks I ended up with new cables to run. So, I added brackets.
