side impact bars inside bodywork?

Just a quick question really. With the likes of a Tiger GTA or similar 'fully clothed' seven, is there scope for putting side impact bars inside the bodywork? I can't really think of a reason not to, but then again I'm not sure what you have to do with side impact bars to make them effective in an accident.

For example, would putting them inside the bodywork have them too low in the car to protect the occupants?

Can't used a side impact equipped cage on a gta, we had a crush structure added to the drivers side when matt at Procomp did our welded cage

I'm doing something similar on my Autotune Gemini.

It's been an option when ordering a Fury chassis for a while... no reason Tiger won't copy them along with the bodywork.
