I think tomorrow's gonna be spent cutting my double thickness ali floor and rear bulk-head. Just a quickie. If I rivet my floor on, how am I
gonna fix the side panels? Surely if there's already a run of rivets there from the floor it may cause a problem?
How's everyone else done it? Photos welcome.
Cheers,
Chris.
When I fitted my ali floor I didn't fit the rivets along the sides until I fitted the side panels. The side panels were then folded on the
outside of the floor and then I used slightly longer rivets to attach both side panel & floor together to the chassis.
Or, use countersunk rivets to attach the floor, no problem then to fit the sidepanels over it.
Just noticed I've been elevated to "Junior Builder".
Looks like an excuse for a sherbert or two to me.......
but how long to be a freak, my friend! only 500 actually, i think, maybe we need a new name for the 2000+ posters, ie them with verbal diahoreeaseas.
Think it's 1000 to become a freak, but what about my floor?
That floor can wait
Yeah, you're prolly right. Suppose I could just sit on the tarmac and have the rear bulk-head push me along.
Before or after your "bottom" is covered in plaster?
I have not done it yet Chris but i think i would rivet the side panels first on the top and side rails leaving the bottom bended edge of the side
panel undrilled.Put floor on top of it and drill through the two panels and rivet.
Yeah, I think that's how I'm gonna do it. Thanks for the advice guys.
As my floor's a reclaimed sign from an industrial estate I've spent most of the afternoon cutting it and peeling of the vinyl letters. Gonna
sand and drill most of the holes tomorrow before giving it a coat of paint.

Nice work Chris!
Thanks very much. If it ever gets put on ramps the mechanics gonna know that the council occupies unit 10 and hardly any other units have been let.
the other half (in the background) is gonna be the rear bulk-head.
