Im getting nearer to buying metal for the chassis. 'Ive made the plates and the pedal box and just started welding bits.
Just where is a good cheap place to buy the tubing. Oh learned ones please help - muxch obliged.
I used ISG steel, although any decent stockholder will have what you need.
Argue the price down, they are all flexible in my opinion.
Regards Mark
Go into Leeds and try
G H E Stansfeld (UK) Ltd 0113-262 8155 Springwell Works ...
That was cheaper than the steel shops I could find in Barnsley, donny, scunny and so rounding areas.
Just work out the cut lengths to put in car.
I had a lot of wastage due to getting them all cut in half.
Thanks
David

I'll do you a flat pack kit in 1.6mm ERW if your interested for £250 with all the tubes pre cut on an industrial cold saw and the compound cuts
machined on the mill. The basic chassis plates and suspension brackets would be included to make the rear suspension mounts, steering rack/column
plates.

25x25x1.6 ERW £8.86 per 6mtr + VAT
20x20x1.6 ERW £8.78 per 6mtr + VAT
Either
2000x1000 3mm CR4 sheet (black mild) £53.67 + VAT
