Matching Powdercoat

I have some additional items to weld into my brand new chassis and it's killing me to think the lovely new powder coat will be damaged What is the best way to tidy it up after welding?

I was thinking of powder coating the new bits as well, and then just grinding off the area to be welded and then touching it in with some black hammerite afterwards. At least that way, even the new bits are still powder coated and hopefully the welded areas don't stand out too much??????

I've used hammerite on my chassis, it's not an exact match (shinier and more speckly) but it looks decent enough.

Hammerite Satin Black matches excisting powder coat really well, especially if you use the aerosol

Hi
We used blackfriars satin black, good match
& you can buy it in smaller tins
for use on steel railing & gates.
Much easier to use & you don't need expensive thinners
to clean up after.
I think its better than hammerite, but that's only me.
we painted our roll cage with it & you cannot see
the brushmarks , looks like its been sprayed.
(Needs a very high quality paint brush)
Good luck

I have found Plastikote to be good for patching powdercoat.
