Hi I need the rear panel tubes to complete my chassis. There used to be a chap on eBay that sold them as a pre bent set but he seems to have
disappeared.
Does anyone know where I can buy pre bent or advise on a way to fabricate without a tube bender.
Whilst on this topic I have heard from a few people that when they have purchased grp body panels they have had to remove the tube and replace with
box section? Is this the case and if so why and also does anyone have the cutting list and drawing for the square set up that suits the grp panels.

I cut my bent tubes out of a steel chair for the rear tub.
If you know a plumber with copper pipe bender you could use either 15x1.6mm or 22x1.6mm ERW tube which also comes up as 7/8th ERW. The chap on ebay that used to sell those handy Haynes Roadster parts was I.
Do you still do them? I see u on there doing the wishbones?
What's the crack with the round over square sections. Several of the panel supliers say that the round tubes need to be removed to allow the
panels to be fitted?
I've never had any of the GRP parts to play with as it is made by other companies so I can not give advice on how to fit it. If you make the rear tub/boot as per the book with the bent tubes then you can make it what ever size you like, so then your not restricted on fuel tank size or boot space.
With a GRP exterior rear panel, you don't need tubes. In my case, I didn't have any GRP at the time, so I found some ally round tube and bent it around my brake disc. One worked, one crimped, but I put it on the car anyways, rivetted to the chassis, and covered it all with fairly thin ally panelling.
Do you know where the GRP rear panel connects to? Does they book spec need any modification?

Hi
I would dearly like to know where you got this picture of our car
which my son ben & I built in my garage.
If you look at this photo you can see the stubs sticking out of the top shock mounting, the GRP tub fits on these.
??????????????????????????????????????????
Thanks
René
Erm.... the GRP fits to these tubes, who's GRP fits on these tubes Saturn/NTS, Equinox or AMG? This is the problem no one has ever produced a fitting guide for their products, the question gets asked and the answer is you'll see how it fits when you get it. This is why I suggest people just make a sheet material rear tub either ali or steel as you can make it to your sizes.
Are the Ali panels easily fabricated by amateurs (such as myself)? Would you just do the tub then buy the rest in GRP?
Also any luck with the vodou bodywork. Would rather not have to buy and modify standard nose.
The ally panels are fabbed by rank amateurs, yes. The Gibbs book shows you how. Do some searches (there is still a way to do searches, I just can't remember ATM).

well all my panels are ally, except for the nosecone, and wings, covered in vinyl wrap. Since GRP has the same finish as vinyl anyways, it shouldn't look too strange, I wouldn't think. Painting metal and GRP will result is subtle differences in the colour however.
