Spitfire Tank

Had a trial fit of my spitfire tank to the chassis today, a little bit of work with the angle grinder and a hammer and it fits perfectly, saved a lot of time and effort, and it only cost me £7.50.
I have posted some pics for anyone else thinking of using one.

Bl***y hell, that's a pukka job. Wish I was still at the tank stage on my build. What's the capacity? Fits a treat.

Just for those looking for a cheap tank the one from a chevette saloon fits too, similar to the spitfire tank, not as wide but taller and with the filler at one side, not in the centre, these are usually in excellent condition as they're fitted inside the car, between the back seat and the boot.

A word of caution - Don't get a HATCHBACK chevette tank these are completely the wrong shape and fitted under the boot in all the sh1t.!
Cheers

Chris
