Hi everyone!
New kid on the block, after many years deliberating and now having the space, resource it's time to bite the bullet and enter the world of locost
kit car! Hopefully I have posted this in the right section, apologies if not!
Currently looking at the Aries chassis and the tiger avon. First question, build manual... I assume the build follows the Ron champion book (or the
haynes book..) and that book is essentially your build manual? Or do tiger/Aries provide their own interpretation of build manual?
Next question, bike or car engine... When I first looked many years ago bike engined cars were limited and very much a rarity, now I get the
impression bike engined is the way to go...opinions, pro and cons welcome!
Any other chassis I should consider? I want the seven-esque look from the vehicle.
Final question for now, what are people's experiences of the Aries product and tiger product, good, bad the ugly feedback welcome.
Looking forward to commencing this project, plenty of research to do and understand!
Tiger have their own book;

You can either buy the book and get the purchase price as a refund on the chassis, or I believe they give you a book with the chassis (or at least
they used to). I'm building a Haynes but I still bought the book to see if there is anything useful in it.
There's loads of choices on chassis.
My current favourite is mine
<------ Haynes roadster
Engine choice is mainly down to where your going to drive and what sort of driving your going to do.
Bike engine is brilliant for the track light and revvy
Car engine is much better for the road and cruising.

I liked the aries car that much that I am now 3/4 of the way through building my second car.they drive great, are a solid car and steve the owner is a great bloke.you can buy all the kit in one go off of him or bit by bit as money allows which is how I am doing it.he is at the other end of the phone if you have any queries about the car.give him a call...
My next build will be the Midlana. After going through BEC's and CEC's its time for a midi... Chassis is much better than the locost book
version IMO.
Theres plenty elsewhere on here about it..

Good luck,
Steve
The Aries chassis is a corker - there is good reason they do so well in racing! I am very happy with my Stuart Taylor (Aries) and bike engine
combination.
The bike vs car engine debate had been done to death on here - do a search and also try to blag some passenger rides. I am always happy to take folk
out for a blast, and I am sure others will too.
Good luck with the BEC build!
