FFS, it hasn't even got a log book??
Caterham CSR Road / Race Chassis - New Long Front, Side Panels - Kit Car/Project
Well, if its been on the road before as the description says it is registered.
It should have a chassis number to get a v5 otherwise its a ringer!
Says no logbook, but you can apply for it if you want to use on the road,so is still registered

Could be an insurance cat A or cat B total loss hence withdrawn v5. If so it can't go back on the road
Either way it's still £4K for a chassis, which was my point

If it checks out ok and can be put in the road with its original registration, then a bid of near £4k isn't all that daft. You're looking at the bones of a £40k car.
Try going to caterham to buy a CSR chassis. It'll be more! Bear in mind its not mild steel, neither MIG'd

Holy cr@p, still looks like a few welded tubes to the untrained eye![]()
I'm sure Multimatic sorted the dynamics and suspension on the CSR and Caged made the chassis using a CNC tube tool. That's some pretty tasty origins, If you want to build a Seven, you won't find a much better chassis to start with.
There is debate about the csr chassis and being welded rather than brazed and the differences in rigidity between the two methods. Certainly the csr chassis has proven well on the track but with 260 BHP, a well sorted 200bhp s3 would and can keep up. Road wise the s3 is too small, it's good....very good but with a passenger it's tight, CSR/ SV is a better option. 4k, 3.5 might clinch it......then again a westy standard chassis is wider than an S3 if dough is a issue

I've raced in the mag 7's on and off since the beginning, what's your comment in refference to? Csr vs s3
Maybe I'm wrong but i haven't seen a 200bhp S3 beat a 260bhp CSR Chassis regularly

Who mentioned SV with 200bhp?
Sorry meant s3, typo.
I was referring to standard spec cars with out of the box power relevant to model, and not putting them into an unlimited race series or any race
series at all.
we cant compare anything in the mag 7's really, most of the front running machinery isn't what it says it is due to engine tuning and how
much each owner says it has.Closer to home my r and latterly c400 both standard 200 ish was a good match for two ex eurocup CSR cars at croft and
knockhill, with comparable lap times.
The S3 in a race situation does tend to be favoured, lighter , more nimble , above chassis manufacture differences.....stick 2.3 duratecs in them
with 290-300 and there's not much in it, whether the CSR can put down this power better than an s3 due to wider track at the rear is another
matter my S3 I don't think used the 300 it had very well 260 seemed to be the sweet spot.
The sprinters/hillclimbers nearly all use s3 chassis. And the top top boys like Darren Luke run tuned busas. Absolutely rapid on the hills and pretty much outpace anything outsized of 5a race cars and above!
Interesting, I wonder how long before the busa is outed? Great tuning potential but heavy with it, does anyone use the CBR 1000?
Tim nunn, terry everall and mark anson do in westfields. Terry's weighs 405kgs and they are all absolutely rapid sprinters!
Terry's I think is an ex bsb 1000rr and is a proper screamer!
The hillclimbers in <1100cc race cars like mine nearly all use gsxr 1000's as they have a bit more grunt than the others
All them westy above were lapping blyton and Anglesey around the same times I did In the radical. They were all a lot lighter than mine though and
were on fresh tyres compared to my 4 season old set
Think I just pipped them at blyton but think terry beat me on Anglesey international!
Nice, i knew Terry had a CBR in his that AB had breathed on to HRC spec, their pretty much on the money already i think HRC spec gets you another
20bhp :-O
I really need to get on with this car, ill start before xmas with a cradle etc but might struggle for the start of next season, we've got another
duratec caterham we're building from scratch and this so its tight. Just wondering how we'll get it off the trolley :-)

Asked the question and it definitely has a chassis plate fitted....waiting for a chassis number to be stamped on it! So if its been on the road I'm guessing the chassis number is being sported by another Caterham...grrrr, at around £3500 with a log book I think it would have been a good buy but as it is its a trackday only car
