Can anyone help me?
I felt in love with a dax rush 2 years ago. I just cant afford such an invenstment and I would love to do it myself (most of it)
Is there anyone outhere having a drawing for the dax chassis or just a chassis where I can fit my second hand bodyparts?
I have looked at the +4" frame, but will the parts fit that one?
I need a frame whith a litlle more space that the chassis from the book as I'm about 1,83m and 19stone.
I have a Dutton, but I dont fit in it and I think there is too much work in modifying that one, so I better go for a new. (the dax are just too
expensive I think.
Please let me hear from you guys, what should I do?

What body parts do you have? If it's scuttle and bonnet and nose, then measue them and compare the width to the standard and +4. I don't think they fit. Or just make the chassis so it does fit the bodywork.
Sure I can get the measurement - but it would have been really nice if anyone already have done the modifying of a chassis to suit it. (I have front
and rear parts + bonnet and I want a 2,0 zetec in it)
And I must admit, its going to be my first kitcar build so....

Dax Rush chassis is very different to the book chassis. It's no wider and at the scuttle area it's actually narrower than a book chassis.
So if you really cant fit in a book chassis (have you tried one out?) then you wont fit in a dax replica either. My friend is taller than you
and fits a book chassis fine, so length wont be a problem, but you might be tight on width I guess.
So if you need a wider chassis then that unfortunately makes the dax nose, bonnet and scuttle useless. You could modify it but it would be easier to
get bodywork to suit.
If you have the gorgeous wheel arches then there's nothing stopping you using those, and that's what makes a Rush stand out anyway. The
rear arches will have to be cut down to fit on a wider parallel sided locost type chassis.
Hope that helps. I too was inspired to my build by a Dax Rush - the 4x4 version. They kick arse.

To Liam: If I made the frame similar to Dax but added the extra with down the midle like mcsorleys +4 chassis, then I could use the wheel arches as
they are or not? Actually the HKT is the best looking but these have their very own measurement and they are very difficult to get I think (and
they're not availible as kit anymore) look at the www.hkt-7.de and see under customers cars (they're nice)
is it right that the seat tunnel or the place where you sit is about 36cm in the book chassis?
cause I've measured that I need something like 42cm. I guess I can steal a litlle space by making the propshaft tunnel (I think its the english
word) a litlle narrower or is it not possible?
By the way - my brother is a skilled bodymechanic so modifying bodyparts wont be that much of a problem.

the rush cycle wings are standard to fit 205 tyres ish arent they?
its just i've ordered a set for the indy as they are designed to accomodate 17" wheels, (the mk ones are definitely not intended for this)
but looking in classifieds, some rushes seem to have even wider front tyres, maybe 235s, only the look from pictures, no actual statements. i
don't want to be landed with the wings being too wide that's all
just wondered since this is the first time i've heard them mentioned on here

Damn those HKTs look rather nice!
Standard book chassis is 42" and the prop tunnel needs to be about 6". With 2" for the sides that leaves 34" for the seating
areas, or 17" each. That's 43.2cm so you should fit in nice and snugly to a book sized chassis.
So maybe you'd be OK copying a dax rush. Unfortunately I can't help on exact dimensions. It would be a bit more complicated to make to
since the whole chassis tapers in (there are no parallel sides) as well as rising up towards the front.
If you make a book chassis with sierra width track (like an MK indy) then youd be able to achieve the wide arched look of the dax rush. That's
what I'm aiming for with my car.

I dont know exactly how wide the dax front wings are. I think they may come in different sizes - wide and very wide. I'd quite like some for my
car too.
£75 for them does seem steep for what you get tho.
i was driven to it because the mk ones were a definite sva fail and everyone elses seem to be set up for 15s too.
think they might be trying to tell me something?
right then, i'll get on the blower monday and clarify that, and see if i can get them down on their 4 to 6 week wait.

Have been trying to sit between two pieces of wood. In the worst case I measured 45cm between both (dont laugh I know I'm wide)
The book chassis is 43,8cm so I think it should be ok. In case I need it, could I then take 2cm or an inch from the proptunnel? and which gearbox
should I then use?
