Hi,

I have the chance of a Mk3 Capri, Does anyone know if i can use this instead of a Mk2 Escort, If so what changes i will need to make to the books chasis plan?

according to the foolish hippy, they can be used!!!!

axle is wider but fills the arches, the rack is also wider so either the wishbones have to be lengthened or the rack chopped.
the hubs would still have to come off another vehicle still

I'm using the 1600 engine, gearbox and back axle from a Capri and I'm either going to cut down the steering rack or find a suitable shorter one when the time comes.

The slightly wider rear can only add to the fantastic handling of the car....

With the absence of suitable Escorts about nowadays, the Capri is a decent option along with the Sierra. Just so long as you make minor compensations for the extra height in the engine....

i used a capri as donor car, s/ column, axle, dash, wheels, wiring,servo, every thing ftted ok. 1600 g/box and engine from a mrk 2 cortina. 3 pictures of my car in rons book
