Hi, building a 442E, how much can the engine sit above the top rails before it starts to obstruct front visability?

And, needing to pick up some alloys, what cars use same fitment to suit sierra hubs?

Sorry can't help you there, but it might be simpler to work out what height the bodywork your planning to use is at both the nose and the scuttle ends.
unless your planning to make your own panels from scratch, the height of these points is effective the top of your bonnet (ignoring any scoops etc) so will give you the best idea of the maximum practical height for the engine

just about any ford with 4 stud wheels built since the 1960's
they are all 4x108 with a 63.4mm centre bore

but the offsets vary quite a lot depending on the application - the RWD escorts used around ET19, the mk1 focus used ET52.5 - sierra's were in the middle at ET35 to ET38



Pug / Citroen also use 4x108, but they have a 65.1mm centre bore, so adaptor rings are need to use them

Thats great news on the wheels. what size/profile looks good and fills the arches nicely on a locost/roadster? Quite like the look of the mondao alloys. What fords have an offset that suits the haynes chassis with sierra hubs?
