Lowcost hotrod?

Benn wanting to do a locost for some time now, and as soon as I get my garage empty (another project) I'll begin welding the chassis.

but I've been thinking of making a few changes to the design, I've got a good friend who is amazing with Aluminum sheet metal, and I was thinking of changing the chassis and bosdywork a bit to look more like a 32 ford (big hotrod town here)

now the proportions will be similar between the for and the locost but the scale will be a little different, but I'll go for the smaller scale.

the idea is to power it with an Ecotec engine (the new smallblock chevy) with quad throttlebody injection, making for a Next Generation American hot rod.

mostly the differences in bodywork will be just for Show appeal (big carshow town) and Autox performance.

If you're considering changing the chassis of the Locost the last thing you should be thinking about is welding.

My advice is to first draw exactly what you want it to look like. Once that's done, then you can design the chassis... The LAST thing to do is welding.

Also have a look at www.dooster.co.uk they sell kits (bodypanels and chassis), and are about as cheap as it gets..
