Hi All
Does the floor need to be fully welded all the way round or would eg 6 inch sections be ok
Im worried that welding such long lengths would cause distortion
Cheers
Andy
Weld one inch, leave 3 inches or so then weld another inch. No need to fully weld.

I presume that allows water to drain out.
No -just reduces the amount of work, and lowers the distortion. I did this on the top-side, then did the same underneath, where possible, putting the
welds in the middle of where the gaps were on the top.
Later on I went over all the seams with polyurethane sealant (and rubbercote underseal underneath).

Andy,
Just to throw a spanner in, I fully welded mine.
The trick is to not weld continuously from one point (ie do a couple of inches in one place then do a couple in inches in the opposite place).

I'm going to use a bilge pump:-)

You could also drill ¼" holes in the floor sheet every 6 inches (in line with the chassis tubing)... then fill the holes with weld. More work than
needed, but clean results and less chance of blow through/distortion.
