I mailed them asking if they had any details that i could use for changing the standard chassis to irs any sketches that covered the picture on page 95.

There reply was:-

"Dear Mike

There are several places that can help you with this, try either www.locostmerchandise.7p.com or luego asthey can sell you the additional plates etc
I will forward onto ron and see if he has anything else we can issue out
The new edition will be out early next year on this and lots of other non standard engines, gearboxes etc
regards

Webmaster "

Thought people may be interested in a third edition coming out next year!

Are they going to rename it?

Suggestions please.... How to build a sports car for somewhat more that £250

James - 23/10/02 at 09:01 AM

With various people having moved house so they have garages/space enough to build it perhaps it should be:

Build your own sports car for £250,000?
or
How to get yourself stressed out, frustrated, bleeding profusely, dumped/divorced and possibly fired for £250?

Cheers,

James

James,

Still laughing at your suggestion for the title to the third edition. Showed "She Who Must Be Obeyed", and the retort was," SO TRUE"!

Now where did I put those Estate Agent details?

Nuclear Jimbo - 23/10/02 at 07:56 PM

Oh arse, another book to buy. Bearing in mind I've spent £18 on Ron's book and £20 on the Tiger Avon book, that only leaves £212 left in the budget (tee hee).

Alan B - 23/10/02 at 08:12 PM

Ron would suggest getting it from the library

Mr G - 23/10/02 at 08:28 PM

May i suggest the excellent read "How to steal books from library's"

Once returned you can put its contents into practice....

david walker - 23/10/02 at 09:34 PM

I hope he makes plenty out of it and then he can maybe pay some of the money he owes me!

Gremlin - 23/10/02 at 10:03 PM

I sent them back a email saying i was just about to start my chassis and had just marked out my bit of board should i hold on for new book?

The answer was "it is up to you but it may be a wait for the new book. It is dew the beginning of next year but exactly when we are not sure. Your choice!"

Well that helps NOT! Oh well carry on as if i heared nothing. I officially started my build this evening i finished the outline on 8'x4' board and cut pieces A1 and A2. Not much i know but underway!

All joking apart, it must hurt to see the guy back in business again....especially doing the SAME thing
You don't begrudge someone a living, but this really rubs their noses in it

Gremlin - 24/10/02 at 05:42 PM

I do apologise if I have cause offence or pored salt in wounds I’m quite new here and unaware of some of the politics.

Alan B - 25/10/02 at 12:56 AM

I wouldn't worry mate. You weren't to know...no doubt someone will fill you in on the details....

JohnFol - 25/10/02 at 06:57 AM

Ron wouldn't suggest getting the book from the library. He'd suggest buying a copy of his new book so you could make your own
"How to write a book describing how to build a car for £250"

mad-butcher - 25/10/02 at 05:41 PM

I just hope they get the dimensions right this time and don't show ron holding a frame up in one hand ( i've still got one bigger than the other trying to do that) then I find out it was an ally chassis
