In addition to my build, A friend is prepping his Locost for the track, and I'm encouraging him to add some protection. Here's the basic jist of what I'm going to recommend (The picture is of my old car, not his)



My question is how to attach it. It's easy enough to weld in everything with permanent connections, OTOH it would be nice to have the thing removable as well. I've been looking for hard data about removable attachment techniques and their relative strengths. Here's a picture of a more elaborate build than what I have in mind, but it shows a couple of different techniques for illustration.



I'd love feedback and technical references, if possible.
