hey, just a question, what level of rust is ok on a tube.

sorry cant take a photo of the actual rust, but heres a photo of someone elses,

Depends how thick the tube and where it is --- the one in the picture looks like 2mm tube so pitting to a depth of say .7 mm wouldn't be a worry but with 1.5mm .4mm pitting would cause me concern. It is realy a question of figuring out what loads are on tube concerned.

If there are rust holes through the chassis tubes then it won't pass an MOT.

If it is just odd tubes then you could cut them (it) out one at a time and weld in a new piece of tube.

You would have to weld in a temporary brace befoe cutting anything out, remember all the distortion loads are still in the chassis even if it is dead straight
