hey, just a question, what level of rust is ok on a tube.

Depends how thick the tube and where it is --- the one in the picture looks like 2mm tube so pitting to a depth of say .7 mm wouldn't be a worry
but with 1.5mm .4mm pitting would cause me concern. It is realy a question of figuring out what loads are on tube concerned.

If there are rust holes through the chassis tubes then it won't pass an MOT.
If it is just odd tubes then you could cut them (it) out one at a time and weld in a new piece of tube.
