My mate can get me laser cut and machine bent suspension brackets in his work but it will need to be 4mm plate.
Can't think of any reason why not does anyone now any better.
i beleive the inside dimension 42mm to be the most important to fit the bush.
Do you mean the machine needs 4mm plate, every body else uses 3mm as a general rule (sure there must be some exceptions).
The other crutial dimension is the distance from the bottom of the braket ( the bit that butts up against the chasssis etc.) and the center of the
bolt holes.
This dimension depends largely on the size of the bush you use and how you enterpret the design in the book.
See my recent topic on brakets.
As for the 42, this is souly dependant on the width of the bush you use.
Going back to 4mm plate there shouldn't be any reason it can't be used if that is what you've got.

No they have no 3mm left
ps its a shipyard(no names) believe it or not and no 3mm lol
For 3mm I bought a sheet about 4' by 8' used it as a welding table and then cut it up for all the 3mm plate and strip.
I would only recommend this if you have a 9" angle grinder to hand.
But for sus. brakets just get some 50x50 box with a 3mm wall.

Just make sure you remove the wall of the RHS with the weld in it
good point mark
slightly of subject mark i have been studying your front suspension mounting diag and it mentions a 3mm packer is it set below the bracket with the
bracket welded on top

I am making the brakets slightly deeper
Great idea i could get two brackets 3mm deeper leaving the holes inthe same place would do away with the need for the packer
