evening all. new to this forum so this will be the first of probably many posts.
Ive started to get together the plans and parts for an as and when locost project, based around the fact that i unearthed a 2.1 pinto in my garage
that needed a home. so, i bought the book and started my research, priced up the chassis materials then with an unexepted storke of luck (probably be
the one one off the entire project!) got offered a an already built book chassis for about what you'd pay for a pair of bottom wishbones!!
sorry for the long post, ill get to the piont now.
basically, what needs to be done to the book chassis to fit a pinto and type nine box???
cheers all
Mark
Move the engine bay brace to the other side and widen the front of the tunnel so you can get it further back.
I've put a Pinto in a book chassis.
The sump and rocker cover will need chopping and you'll need high level bodywork (GTS).
As opposed to getting higher bodywork, or even in addtition to if it looks ok, I would consider raising the top chassis rail by 1". This is what
MK do.
Makes is much easier to fit engines in and gives you a wider selection of bodywork to choose from.
