At last, and for those who thought I would never get this far, my chassis steel arrived today. They have sent 1 1/2 inch round tube rather than 3/4 (does this mean I only need half the length!!) so I will have to phone and get them to change that.

Only other problem is that my garage is about 6 foot too short to get the full lengths in so something will have to get sorted to fit it and me in properly!

Should have all the square and round section I need now, total cost £73 which I reckon is pretty good.

Now, where did I put that book.........

The steel came from Ossett Steels in Kinsley near Pontefract. Free delivery as I live close by.

Twas cheap because he "forgot" to charge me VAT. I don't have a receipt though so I guess I may have to create my own to satisfy the DVLA when eventually I come to register it.

Thanks for the offer Pat - it has gone in, sort of. Currently at an angle from the rafters at one end to just inside the door on the floor at the other. I will probably have to cut it a bit as I am not too happy about the curvature it may develop if left in the current position. I may make the first cuts one from each piece of tube so the can all rest on the floor or hang from the rafters with plenty of support.
